There are many different rodent species in Australia both Native and introduced, but there are only 3 commensal species which are the house mouse, Norway rat and roof rat. Commensal means living at mans expense without contributing anything beneficial to the relationship.Mice spread viral and infectious pathogens which are left on the surfaces they touch. A mouse (plural: mice) is a small mammal belonging to the order of rodents, characteristically having a pointed snout, small rounded ears, a body-length scaly tail and a high breeding rate. Mice are usually much smaller than a rat usually around 7.5cm to 10cm and they have a smaller tail. Their colourings and markings can include light grey, white, light brown and black.
